Acting career & rise to prominence
He made his feature-film debut in Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) and went on to appear in franchise and genre films — notable early roles include Caius in The Twilight Saga, Jace Wayland in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and a young Gellert Grindelwald in the Harry Potter / Fantastic Beasts films.
