Origins & family
Yamal was born and raised in the Barcelona area. His mother, Sheila Ebana, is from Bata in Equatorial Guinea, and his father, Mounir Nasraoui, is from Larache, Morocco — Yamal therefore has Equatoguinean and Moroccan family roots alongside his Spanish upbringing.
Club career & breakthrough
Lamine came through Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy and made his first-team debut for FC Barcelona as a teenager in April 2023. He quickly became one of the club’s most-watched young talents, earning starts in La Liga and the Champions League.
International career & achievements
Yamal made his senior debut for Spain in September 2023 and became the youngest player to appear for and score for the national team. He played a key role in Spain’s UEFA European Championship campaign (Euro 2024), winning the tournament and the Young Player Award, and set several age-related records at club and international level.
