Sadie was born and raised in Brenham, Texas, in a large, sports-oriented family. Her parents are Casey Sink (father) and Lori (née Baughman) Sink (mother); her father has worked as a football coach and her mother as a teacher — and both supported Sadie’s and her siblings’ early interest in performing.Her family background is commonly described as mixed northern/central European — sources list English, German and Irish ancestry — and she is one of five children. Her mother enrolled Sadie and her brother Mitchell in performing classes when they were young, which set the stage for a professional career.

Early training & theatre beginnings

Sadie began performing in community theatre in Houston at a young age and made an early leap to professional theatre: at about age 10–11 she joined the Broadway production of Annie, followed by other stage work that built her acting and musical-theatre experience. These theatre credits were important in developing her technique and presence on camera.
