Fermín López short bio

Fermín began playing locally at CD FB El Campillo, had a spell with Recreativo de Huelva, then joined Real Betis’s academy in 2012. He moved to FC Barcelona’s La Masia in 2016 and progressed through the youth ranks before turning professional.

Club career & rise to prominence

After signing a professional contract with Barcelona Atlètic, López spent the 2022–23 season on loan at Linares Deportivo (Primera Federación), where he scored regularly and earned notice for his attacking output. He returned to Barcelona and established himself in the first team as an attacking midfielder / left winger, known for dynamism, passing and late-arriving runs into the box.

In October 2024 he extended his Barcelona contract until 2029, and he played a part in Barcelona’s successful 2024–25 domestic treble (LaLiga, Copa del Rey and Supercopa).

International career

López progressed through Spain’s youth teams and received senior call-ups in 2024; he made his senior debut in a friendly against Andorra and was included in Spain’s squad for UEFA Euro 2024.
